Overlook Park

Dedicated in 2002, Overlook Park provides an outstanding recreation area for residents of Idlewylde and neighboring communities. The park, located at the end of Overbrook Road off of Regester Avenue, includes a playing field, multi-use courts, a playground, picnic tables, walking paths, benches, and restrooms.

Idlewylde Community Hall

Located on Sherwood Road, between Beechwood Road and Limit Avenue, the Idlewylde Community Hall hosts neighborhood functions and various private events. The hall accommodates up to 150 people. All rentals include tables and chairs. Idlewylde Community Association members receive a 30% discount for hall rentals. A kitchen is available for reheating food.

Schools

Idlewylde children attend the following Baltimore County schools: Stoneleigh Elementary, Dumbarton Middle, and Towson High.  The Idlewylde United Methodist Preschool, on Regester Avenue, is available for 3 and 4-year-olds.

Recreation

In addition to Overlook Park, Idlewylde residents have access to the fields, playground areas, and tennis courts at Stoneleigh Elementary and other schools. The Towson Recreation Council (TRC), which has offices at Dumbarton Middle School, provides year-round sports and activities, and the Towson YMCA is nearby.

Shopping

Idlewylde encompasses its own commercial district located on Sherwood Road. The small shopping area includes several eateries and establishments. Towson Town Center (the region's largest shopping mall), Towson Commons, York Road Plaza, and Dulaney Plaza are all within a few miles.

Churches

The Idlewylde United Methodist Church, on Regester Avenue, and the Truth and Life Family Worship Center, on Sherwood Road, are located within community boundaries, and numerous additional churches of many denominations are in the surrounding area.
